Sophie & Rory’s Festival Marquee Wedding

When this gallery landed in my inbox from the incredible photography duo The Springles I was totally bowled over. Sophie & Rory were the most laid back couple, they had their wedding celebration at their family residence in near Penshurst, East Sussex.

When I arrived to set the cake up there was the most dramatic thunderstorm which would be most couples nightmare but looking at these images proves that it didn’t matter in the slightest and the wedding turned out to be amazing regardless. So rest easy people, and go with the flow, you can’t do anything about the weather.

Their day started with a traditional church wedding and then they arrived at the marquee in a gorgeous vintage car. They had amazing food by Jacaranda and lawn games to entertain the guests.

For their cake Sophie and Rory had a 4 tier pressed flower design in warm tones which Jacaranda Catering used for their dessert. They used my log cake stand for display and when it was time to cut the cake, the caterers moved it outside on a barrel which as you can see makes for very cool photos, be bold, my cakes are stable enough to be moved so think outside the box with your display and consider moving the cake for the cutting photos.

The night finished with dancing and the marquee was lit up with festoon lighting.
