Denise & Mark had this iced cupcake tower for their wedding celebrations at Wadhurst Castle. I made them a top tier to cut with sugar flowers matching their wedding flowers and 75 cupcakes, some iced with sugar flowers and bows and some with a buttercream swirl. I hire this cupcake stand with the order.

Cake cutting photos get me every time, this one in particular of the lovely Katie & Tom in the boathouse at Wilderness, Preston Court has got to be up there. It’s one of those things that most people haven’t done before let alone in front of a crowd. You’re given a blunt knife, a (hopefully) sturdy cake (table dependant) and you have no idea how much pressure is needed so either just go for it or nothing happens. Cracks me up every time, and produces the best photos and facial expressions. In my opinion there’s no better reason to have a wedding cake. These two totally smashed it and the expression on Katie’s face says it all. Thank you both for being epic!

I’ve noticed a new wedding cake trend emerging over the last year and for this styled shoot I felt it was the perfect occasion to try it out!

My take on an Italian style wedding cake with sweet puff pastry, crème patisserie and oodles of fresh berries. For couples that don’t want a traditional wedding cake I think this is great, you get the drama of the huge centrepiece and it’s delicious!
