Alex approached me with a very unique vision and sketch which she asked me to create for her!

This 4 tier cake was adorned with handcrafted sugar magnolias, poppies, blue anemone, white roses, ivy branches and more. Jane at the Coffee Cup Cake Company made the cartoon sheep figures which were a personal sentiment and made the cake truly one of a kind!

Spring floral cake display for A&T

It really pays off to make an effort with the display of your wedding cake, this set up was in collaboration with @toasthq who supplied the stand and props, @fig_and_flower_ who supplied the flowers and be @ohhsorosiecalligraphy who made the cake sign. It makes such a lovely feature at a wedding and is by far better than putting the cake in the corner of the room, wouldn’t you agree?

Sprinkled confetti pressed flower cake

My lovely couple L&T asked me to create them a pastel Spring themed edible pressed wedding cake for their celebration at Firle Place this April. The cake was finished with fresh flowers supplied by @gobotanica.

“Good afternoon Emily, it’s Lucinda. Thank you so much for the cake yesterday - I can’t count the number of times people told me it was the best wedding cake they had ever eaten!”

The Enchanting Cake Table

B&T asked me to create them a cake table spread for their intimate wedding which started at Canterbury Cathedral and then the celebrations continued at The George in Rye. Incredible flowers adorned the stunning ballroom and the couple had a string quartet playing in the background. Their vision came to life and I was proud to be a part of it by making and styling this table for them with 3 small cakes, cupcakes, meringues and macarons. The satisfaction when I had completed this set up was off the charts.

I’ve been a bit quiet recently on social media but behind the scenes have been busy talking to lots of couples about their 2024 wedding cakes and taking bookings for 2024/2025. I really enjoy the contrast of an on and off season when working in the wedding industry as the off season gives me a chance to recuperate, creatively and mentally and prepare for the season ahead like a little squirrel stashing nuts away except I’m stashing wedding cake sketches 😆

I’ve got some lovely designs coming up this year, lots include pressed flower cakes which I adore making so not only am I planning the cake designs but gathering seeds ready to sow in my poly tunnel to grow beautiful edible flowers which I will press for cakes.

Is anyone else out there enjoy taking it slow in the winter months?
